TikTok launched a battalion of influencers in the nation’s capital Wednesday to send a message to Congress: Banning the app would be met with widespread popular opposition. The influencers’ blitz is part of TikTok’s response to persistent concerns among U.S. officials that the app, owned by Beijing-based ByteDance, could be used by the Chinese government to spy on Americans or promote divisive or manipulative content. TikTok maintains that it isn’t beholden to any government. #tiktok #tiktokban #influencer #bytedance #congress #washingtondc #wsj #wallstreetjournal #thewallstreetjournal | Aidan Kohn-Murphy | Reporter | Ryan Tracy | Callie Goodwin | @genzforchange founder | Dan Salinger | @dsalnorcal | @sparksofjoyco

The Biden administration has told TikTok its Chinese owners must sell their stakes in the company or else face a U.S. ban on the app. Officials and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle say they are concerned the Chinese government could gain access to Americans’ user data, or could influence what Americans see on the app. TikTok says Chinese authorities have never asked the app to access data or influence its video offerings, and that the company would refuse to comply if it received such a request. #tiktok #tiktokban #biden #congress #wsj #wallstreetjournal #thewallstreetjournal

Last week, Silicon Valley Bank failed and was taken over by regulators. On Sunday, another bank, Signature Bank, was also closed. That day, the government stepped in to protect all of those banks’ deposits and create a way for other banks to get access to more cash. Covid-19 has rewritten many work norms, and moved even more on-the-job communications to email, Slack and other messaging tools. Yet layoffs via email still come as a shock. After a pandemic hiring spree in which big-tech firms such as Meta and Amazon recruited tens of thousands of new hires via Linkedin, Zoom interviews and other virtual means, many of those same companies are turning to email to conduct the biggest wave of industry layoffs in years. Many employees, though, say cuts via inbox feel cold and unkind. #work #jobs #business #wfh #workfromhome #remotework #wsj #wallstreetjournal #thewallstreetjournal | Learn the facts about COVID-19
Try asking again in 2025… But seriously—according to our columnist Rachel Feintzeig, everyone wants to get together these days, at least in theory. However, many of our calendars are clogged with extracurriculars and hybrid work schedules, years’ worth of pent-up business travel and birthday parties. We’re trying to make up for lost time, while getting reacclimated to the pace of a busy life. #worklifebalance #schedule #busy #work #life #ghost #tired #wsj #wallstreetjournal #thewallstreetjournal #CapCut | Just letting everyone know I’m busy Friday, though I’ll probably
