Thank you for educating me everyone, and do keep in mind this apology is only for black people to accept. | Hi everyone, as you all know I recently cosplayed Hikari Kuina from AIB and braided my hair with twine to match the character. In the show, which is where I referenced my cosplay, she has dreadlocked hair. I was advised by my black friends not to do her dreads, so instead with my black friend’s recommendation I two section braided my hair into loose twists. I was told by multiple black people, some strangers, that it was not offensive at all so that is the hair style I had did. I did not know it would come across as mocking of black people, that was not my intention whatsoever but I understand that was rightfully perceived that way. I apologize if you feel uncomfortable with my actions and I realize how they had affected some people. I already privated all of the videos and will no longer be cosplaying her due to people expressing their discomfort for me, as a half yt person, cosplaying a black character.
