People are protesting against gender-based violence after a woman was sexually assaulted in Fatima Jinnah park in Islamabad, Pakistan on the 2nd of February. Many women tied their scarves, or dupattas, to the F-9 park gates as a sign of solidarity. It’s the second major incident to happen in the city’s largest park in the last few years. Pakistan’s conviction rates for sexual assault cases remains extremely low, with survivors and their families fearing the cultural stigma of speaking out.
