Do you need a prenup? Millennials of all income levels have embraced them—not only to protect assets accumlated before and during marriage, but to address societal realities that weren’t necessarily present or common years ago. Experts point to the fact that many millennials are children of divorced parents and have had an intimate look at what can happen financially when a marriage dissolves. At the same time, the stigma or taboo that used to be associated with discussing money before marriage is slowly disappearing. #prenup #marriage #wealth #divorce #alimony #wsj #thewallstreetjournal #wallstreetjournal | Reminder that you can include these things

We tend to choose our partners based on shared values, in-common traits and other similarities, marriage researchers say. But money-management styles are one case in which opposites do attract, said Jenny Olson, an assistant professor of marketing at Indiana University who studies couples’ financial decision-making. We are drawn to people who can check and balance our own rigid rules about money, Olson said. Someone who feels they are too focused on saving and not focused enough on using money to enjoy life might look for a partner who can help them feel more comfortable with an occasional splurge. #money #finance #date #dating #Relationship #wsj #wallstreetjournal #thewallstreetjournal
in full video we cover that prenups are just a marriage agreement, and that if you don't set your own prenup, that the government sets it for you. So yes i would get a prenup just one that would also hold my wife down in case of divorce. #nectarseltzer #barchemistry #viettrap #podcast #ep78
Cohabiting but unmarried couples struggle to build as much wealth as married couples. There are many reasons at play, including socioeconomic factors. The higher your income, the more likely you are to marry, a 2017 report by the American Enterprise Institute found. Marriage rates are also lower among Black and Latino groups, and those same households of similar ages held far less wealth than their white counterparts, whether married or partnered. #marriage #money #single #marriedcouples #youngcouple #singlelife #rich #wealth #wsj #wallstreetjournal #thewallstreetjournal | Julia Carpenter

It is better—financially—to be married than single if you’re 25 to 34, according to the St. Louis Fed. The money gap between young married couples and singles has widened, thanks to inflation and rising home prices. After a spell of rapid inflation and years of pandemic living, single people are getting left further behind, say economists at the Fed and elsewhere. #marriage #money #single #marriedcouples #youngcouple #singlelife #rich #wealth #wsj #wallstreetjournal #thewallstreetjournal | (According to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis)
